Position Description
Our Melbourne office has a position available for an experienced Project Co-ordinator with proven time management, negotiation, documentation and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate would have a background in co-ordinating IT infrastructure and/or Software projects and be familiar with delivering these projects using the PRINCE2 or similar project management methodology.
The role of the Project Co-ordinator is to ensure that all contracted Scope of Works are delivered to the highest quality standard within scope and budget. This is achieved by liaising with the appropriate customer representatives and AVTech groups involved, This role requires a person who is able to work independently, has excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly gain and maintain the confidence of the customer towards management, delivery and closure of IT infrastructure projects in a consistently timely and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
To help deliver AVTech’s strategy the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- The provision of pre-sales support to the sales team (SCs and BDMs) whereby assisting in the creating of new business proposals and qualification of new opportunities;
- The timely and quality delivery of assigned projects to the customer as described in the Scope of Works between the customer and AVTech;
- Managing the assigned resources on projects in line with the contractual deliverables within each Scope of Work;
- Preparing and submitting the required invoices to the customer in an agreed format and ensuring that the process undertaken provides for sound profit and revenue targets to be met;
- Review and approval of Scope or Works, proposals and other associated project documentation;
- Review, maintain and update project scheduling for resources;
- Understanding, identifying and managing Project risks and change control;
- At all times works in the interests of AVTech with regards to the day to day relationship with the customer;
- Project documentation based on AVTPM1 (AVTech methodology);
- Effective communication by maintaining frequent on site or remote customer consultation;
- Technical experience / background in a similar IT managed services/integration environment is an advantage;
- Travelling outside of Melbourne/Australia when required;
- Maintaining weekly forecast reports including regular liaison with AV Tech Business Development Managers and Senior Managers;
- Mentoring other team members and provide technical advice and recommendations drawing on past industry experience;
- Building and maintain excellent repour with:
- PCS, Software Development and Managed Services;
- Sales Consultants and Business Development Managers;
- Senior management;
- Customer representatives including senior management and business outcome owners;
- Vendors.

- Excellent written and project documentation skills;
- Excellent communication, presentation, time management and team oriented skills;
- Broad understanding of technical Infrastructure and software projects and related technology dependencies;
- Proven negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties;
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills;
- Excellent customer relationship building and management skills;
- Proven ability to work independently;
- Delivering project work based on industry best practice and project management fundamentals such as (PMI, PRINCE2 or AGILE).
- Qualifications
- Candidates with a Bachelor degree;
- Advantageous to have PMI, PRINCE2 or AGILE;

- Self-motivated and willing to work outside the normal business working hours to meet business and client expectations;
- A positive, results oriented and customer focused attitude;

- Non Technical Requirements
- Live within 25-30kms radius of the Melbourne CBD;
- Must have a car and a valid driving license (travelling will be required);
- Have an appropriate Australia or New Zealand work visa (for non-resident candidates).
