Position Description

Our Shanghai office has a position available for a Senior Systems Engineer with good communication skills, vision of Information Technology and experienced in consulting, designing and implementing projects for small-medium IT environments.

We’d like to select people with an enthusiastic interest in IT, a strong willingness to learn and the desire to provide great customer services. Furthermore, they must have good English skills (Speaking, listening, reading and writing), be logical thinkers and good at problem solving.

Responsibilities

To help deliver AVTech’s strategy the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering quality technical engagements in relation to:
    • Architect and design;
    • Solution implementation.
  • Provide escalated support (servers, business applications and networking issues), onsite and remotely;
  • Diagnose, resolve, escalate, follow-up and complete client IT issues. Liaise with Services in other countries is required;
  • Mentor other team members and provide technical advice and recommendations drawing on past experience;
  • Communicate with third parties (e.g. Internet Service Providers and Hardware/Software Vendors, etc.).

Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Personality Attributes

To help deliver AVTech’s strategy the successful candidate MUST HAVE the following skills, experience, qualifications and personality attributes:

  • Skills & Experience
    • 3+ years working experience in IT support and/or project delivery;
    • Excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English (speaking, listening, reading and writing);
    • Good written and project documentation skills;
    • High degree of creativity and judgment to identify and solve complex problems;
    • Good presentation skills;
    • Efficient time management skills.

  • Ideal Technical Experience
    • Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Operating Systems;
    • Microsoft Terminal Server 2003/2008;
    • Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010;
    • Backup : Computer Associates (Arcserve), Symantec (Backup Exec);
    • Antivirus : McAfee, Symantec;
    • Broad knowledge of networking, routing and firewall (for example, Cisco);
    • Advantageous experience:
      • Virtualization (for example, VMWare);
      • Storage Area Network (for example, Netapp);
      • IP Telephony (for example, Cisco UCS Express/Call Manager; VoIP).

  • Qualifications
    • Candidates with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline;
    • Industry and/or vendor certifications related to the above technical requirements.

    • Self motivated and willing to work outside the normal business working hours to meet business and client expectations;
    • A positive, results oriented and customer focused attitude;
    • A desire to take responsibility and ownership to see actions/issues through to completion;
