Coffex

Coffex Coffee has become a vastly different company to the one that started 40 years ago. Coffex believe it is necessary to alter the way people think about coffee and Coffex. In recent years Coffex have launched a new corporate appearance that will serve them well in the 21st century. Coffex Coffee symbolises a bold, confident and modern organisation dedicated to setting and improving the standard of coffee.

AVTech Solutions

AVTech first engaged with Coffex 8 years ago. Coffex has 12 offices nationally with Head Office located in Melbourne.  They also have International coverage with offices in Singapore, New Zealand and Malaysia.

AVTech's relationship with Coffex has spanned many projects and technologies. One of the most outstanding projects that AVTech was able to implement was their WAN solution.

WAN/LAN

Prior to AVTech's solution, all 12 offices ran separate networks, systems and databases. This caused great management issues, as there was no consistency between the offices. Each individual office ran their own payroll, invoicing and financial systems then faxed the information to Head Office. Back at Head Office the information would be re-keyed into their system thus causing double the work load.

Coffex had not previously implemented a national network, as it had always been cost prohibitive. With AVTech being at the forefront of broadband technology they were able to implement a VPN using xDSL which was not only cost-effective but also secure and scalable for future business growth.

A hub and spoke typology was used with all sites terminating at Head Office in Melbourne. Head Office became the central location for all systems thus eliminating the need for multiple databases across multiple sites. This lead to a more efficient working environment for all locations.

Terminal Services

In conjunction, AVTech also implemented Microsoft’s Terminal Server. This was deployed so that management tasks could be completed from a central location, this being Coffex Head Office. Implementation of Terminal Services allowed the remote interstate sites access to the applications based at Head Office.

Managed Services

Coffex also made use of AVTech's Help Desk for phone and remote support for their interstate sites. This minimises the need for Coffex to run their own costly internal Help Desk. At Coffex Head Office in Melbourne they see great value in utilising AVTech's expertise and use AVTech's proactive support. This regular proactive support ensures that their network is managed and maintained. By trouble-shooting any potential issues AVTech is able to minimise any possible future down time.
